Art of Breath: Maskara

Join us to celebrate our heritage and Filipino American History Month at "Art of Breath - Maskara" (the Filipino spin on "Mask"). This is a virtual journey into the art of self-expression and the power of breath. Through guided breathwork, creative play, and somatic exploration, we'll gently peel back the layers to explore the masks you wear – those roles shaped by cultural conditioning, societal expectations, and your own creative spirit. We'll celebrate the beauty and complexity of our identities and honor the stories that shape us.

What to expect:

  • Guided Breathwork with experienced, trauma-trained facilitators: Ground and center yourself, tap into your inner wisdom, and release stagnant energy.

  • Creative exploration: Engage in a playful mask-making activity to connect with different facets of yourself.

  • Somatic inquiry: Explore the wisdom of your body and deepen your connection to your authentic self.

  • Community connection: Share your experiences and insights in a safe and supportive virtual space.

This event is for you if:

  • You're curious about exploring the concept of "masks" and how they shape your identity.

  • You're interested in deepening your self-awareness and connecting with your authentic self.

  • You're seeking a safe and supportive space to explore your inner landscape.

  • You're drawn to creative expression and somatic practices.

No prior experience with breathwork or art therapy is necessary. All are welcome!

What to bring:

We're channeling our inner child to create masks! We're all about keeping things simple and using what we have on-hand:

  • Paper (any kind will do, but we suggest colored or construction paper or heavier stock)

  • Glue (tape will suffice in a pinch)

  • Pencil

  • Scissors

  • coloring pencils, crayons, markers, or paint

About your guides:

We are a partnership forged in shared purpose and mutual respect. Severa J and Raven Bee connected during Flow Breathwork Facilitator Training, where a profound friendship blossomed into a collaborative journey. Our union is rooted in a deep commitment to community healing, as we draw from our own individual healing experiences and spiritual paths. Together, we create a nurturing space that invites individuals to explore their inner landscapes, embrace transformation, and foster connection. Our mission is to guide clients to empower themselves on their healing journeys, offering loving support and guidance every step of the way.
